Carl had a brother Lee who was born in July 1978. He was very proud and very protective of Lee and as they grew up thet became best friends. He was very close to his grandparents nana and gramps Thompson little nanny and grandad Stevens. Unfortunately nana and gramps passed away within six months of each other when Carl was ten. Another addition to the family was prince a border collie mix who was much loved. In 1983 Carl moved to Bexleyheath and went to Pelham road school and then on to Bexleyheath school. He never really settled at school and couldn't wait to leave to earn some money. At this time he was playing football for crayford arrows and mill wall juniors. Football was a great love of his and he was fortunate that his grandad was involved with mill wall football club.
